Full description
At the Meeting Point, you'll receive your Listening Set. You'll visit Belfast City Hall before walking to the Peace Walls a journey of some 20 minutes. Along the way, as you walk past scenes of the recent troubled past, you receive a detailed, objective commentary covering the history and background to the 'Troubles'. At the International Wall, you have time for photographs of Belfast's famous murals. After that you walk through the security gates to Belfast's 'Peace Walls'. There is plenty of time for questions. After the 'Peace Walls' you walk back to Belfast City Centre. You see St Anne's Cathedral and move through the vibrant Cathedral Quarter which is full of cafes, bars, music and modern murals. You meander through the famous Entries and learn about Belfast's opposition to the slave trade and it's a radical, past. You walk towards High Street, where you will see the Albert Clock before visiting a historic church. From the outside, it doesn't seem imposing but as you step inside, you step back 240 years to a different time when the Church was at the centre of Irish history. The tour concludes within sight of Belfast City Hall. At the end of the tour, you'll have the most complete understanding of Belfast. Belfast is a City of Contrasts and the tour reflects that. You will be entertained, engaged and informed.

Our family of 6 went on Arthur's tour and we all thought it was a great, and actually necessary, experience. Some of us knew more than others about the history but we all learned a great deal. What was so unique about this tour was the clear-eyed and balanced honesty from a personal perspective of someone who had been there. It was an excellent mix of historical fact, personal interpretation, and less than obvious insights about things we would just never have noticed but were incredibly significant. Arthur is very serious about what he does but he is also very funny. The tour does not hide from the dark aspects but it also ends with what has happened since with reconciliation and the peace process. And it is that - a process - so there will be a need for this tour for some time to come. Brilliant.

I had a great and very insightful tour with Arthur today! I liked how Arthur didn't hold back on the dark history of Belfast rather than be half hearted. Arthur was a great tour guide with good sense of humour and went the extra mile. I can definitely say now I've learnt how dark Belfast history is and how it seems like a city that is so closed off from the rest of the world, some real shocks finding out about the killings , murders etc. Book now you won't be disappointed!

This was a good tour, and well worth the time. Our guide was a little quirky but good natured and interested in giving us good insight. As the title suggests, one gets a good look at the walls of Belfast. Spoiler alert: the "bridges" are the connections and people have reached across Belfast's sectarian divide.
