Coasteering is a physical activity that involves movement along the intertidal zone of a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming, without the aid of boats, surf boards or other craft. The term was used by a group of friends that decided to explore their local coast, as the combination of the words "mountaineering" and "coast" and this is how Coasteering was born in Wales in 1985. Our activity consists on exploring the coast, over the caves and the sea, by hiking around beautiful cliffs, swimming in cristal clear waters, climbing over the water, and jumping from 1 meter till 11 meters and also some stops to explore the underwater world full of marine life with some snorkeling equipment. Our tour will be in the natural park of the Vicentine Coast, in one of the last beaches of the south coast, near by the historical fishing village of Sagres, about 30 minutes away from Lagos. During the tour the guide will take pictures and videos and send them to you. This tour allows you to explore remote places where you can just acess doing Coasteering! We would love to show you the coast of the Algarve and the Vicentine Coast National Park in a different way.

After meeting your guide at the meeting point, begin your unique horseback adventure by entering a hidden pathway leading to lush pine forests, a place of great beauty, and a typical landscape of the region. Continue along some winding paths that take you through the countryside, providing ample opportunity for contemplating the gorgeous surrounding flora of the natural park and its distinctive wild fruits. As you ride, you’ll overlook the sea along the coast until you finally move out onto the beach itself, where you’ll feel the wind, the Sunset and your horse as you ride beside the sea. Witness a stunning sunset in this pristine location, leaving an impression that’s sure to last a lifetime. As the dusk continues to fall, you’ll make your way back to your original meeting point. On the morning schedule, you will also enjoy all of this, but after sunrise. We cannot accept people over 95kg. Our horses can’t support more weight. We cannot accept children under 12 years old. For that, we have created the picadero for kids experience.

Begin this tour that takes place in the stunning coasteering location in the southwest Algarve, in the Costa Vicentina Natural Park located between Sagres and Lagos. Start the 3 hours of excitement by getting ready with your wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, and shoes, and getting a briefing on safety and prevailing conditions. Walk down to the water's edge and start off exploring the coastline, hidden beaches, amazing cliffs, and rock formations, admiring the clear ocean waters and learning about the marine environment and some local traditions. Soon you’ll be swimming in the ocean and inside sea caves, and climbing and walking along the rocky shoreline. You’ll have a chance to try some cliff jumping as well. Starting with small jumps to develop your confidence and technique, you’ll build up to jumps of up to 10 meters high. You can even jump inside the grottoes. After all the action, it will be time to walk back over the cliffs along the scenic coastal path while chatting about your experience.

Due to our adventurous nature and love of extreme sports, in this tour we will stretch the jeep to its limit and see how it performs on the wildest off-road tracks. What can be better than to explore all this with the locals, who know the region like the back of their hand? This programme includes: • A visit to the town of Sagres • Stop-off at Cape St. Vincent, the most south-western point in Europe. • An off-road visit to a secret secluded beach, situated in the middle of the Natural Park. • A visit to the best look-out point in Portugal, featuring 140m high cliffs and breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean. • A short walk on an environmental trail of unique beauty. Experience a horse riding adventure that you will never forget! We will ride together through the breathtaking Costa Vicentina and its beautiful landscapes. My horses are gentle and experienced, so you can feel safe and relaxed, whether you are an experienced rider or taking your first steps. Our routes take you through the typical landscape of the Western Algarve, past cork oak forests, down to babbling streams and across wide fields in the backland of the Costa Vicentina. As an experienced riding guide, I ensure safety and fun while you explore the beauty of the surrounding area from horseback. Our trip starts and ends on my little farm in Perdigão, Rogil from where we have the best starting point for our trip into the breathtaking wilderness. If you would like, you are welcome to come a little earlier before the ride and help me with cleaning and saddling. This gives you the opportunity to get to know your horse better and build an initial connection.

Walk through Monsaraz’s narrow stone streets, admire the castle walls once entrusted to the Knights Templar, and soak in the tranquility and beauty of the Alentejo landscape. Enjoy this day of discovery and history where you will visit some of the most interesting and scenic areas of the Algarve. Follows lesser traveled paths, giving you a discerning view of Portugal’s past and present. Meet your driver and travel to the town of Silves. Wander the narrow streets and alleys of the town and visit the impressive cathedral which you can pay to enter if you would like. From here, continue your ascent into Monchique Mountain. Stop in the charming spa village of Caldas de Monchique, with springs of proven medicinal properties. Following the winding road, reach the highest point in the Algarve, Fóia, standing at 902m above sea level. The views here are dramatic and the air is incredibly pure. Downhill then from Fóia, cross the countryside and take a break in the small village of Marmelete where you have time to enjoy lunch in one of the local restaurants. After lunch, go straight to Costa Vicentina, to admire the magnificent beaches where you can have some time to walk around, relax, and capture pictures of the views. Then it’s on to the ‘end of the world’, Cape St. Vincent, the southwestern point of Europe, where you can feel the wilderness of the place. The lighthouse that rises in this place defies the elements and is one of the most important lighthouses in Europe due to its strategic position. Lastly, pass through Sagres, a typical fishing village, and see its sheltered fishing port. At the end of the tour, the driver will drop you back at your hotel.

Experience this minivan tour to the Algarvian West Coast also known as the Costa Vicentina, and enjoy lunch at a restaurant located on the cliffs with amazing view’s over the Atlantic ocean and its beautiful coastline. Note. Restaurant is included in the tour but not included in the price, you choose from the menu which is a huge selection with typical Portuguese food. Start the tour after being picked up from your indicated meeting point in the Albufeira area, toward our first destination Aljezur a picturesque village with on top of a hill a medieval Moorish castle. Here we make a coffee break and you will have the opportunity to visit the local market with a nice selection of typical local products from the Algarve. A short drive from Aljezur we will Arrive at praia Monte Clerigo a beautiful beach were a small river mouths out at sea. Then again a short drive towards Arrifana a small fishing village but also popular among surfers where we will stop at an amazing viewpoint with a 16 century fortification and you will be amazed again with breath-taking views. Then we are on our way towards Praia the Bordeira a gigantic beach where you can admire the surf braking on the beaches. We continue our journey with again small stops to enjoy the magnificent coastline toward our last stop at the end of the world known as Cape Saint Vincent the most south western tip of mainland Europe. From here we will make our way back towards Albufeira and your hotel or apartment. All this will be a great experience you will never forget.
