What to Expect
After your hotel pick-up at approx 07:50h we will first drive to Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world from where you will enter the gates of the Forbidden City. Also known as the Palace Museum, this large complex in the middle of Beijing was built between 1405-1420 and is the biggest ancient complex of buildings in the world consisting of political, living and enjoyment areas. Throughout the Ming and Qing dynasties between 1368-1905, 24 emperors ruled China from this place. After enjoying a walking tour through the Forbidden City, we will sit down to enjoy a Chinese lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Heaven, which was the place where the Imperial Emperors worshipped and prayed for good harvest. This beautiful temple has a history of over 570 years during which 22 emperors have held 654 ceremonies here. Discover the architecture of acoustics in the Temple such as "The Echo Wall" or "Triple Sound Stone". The Temple of Heaven combines many subjects in ancient China into one: philosophy, politics, rites, astronomic, music, art and architecture. Learn all about its many unique cultural connotations from your knowledgable tour guide.
After an amazing cultural experience Beijing, you will return to the hotel at around 17:00h.
