What to Expect
Discover the many wonders of the Chinese capital on a 2-day guided tour. You’ll see Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. Climb the Great Wall, see an amazing Chinese acrobatics show, and enjoy local specialties at lunch.
Visit the old-style residential areas, known as hutongs, by pedicab, and take a rickshaw ride to visit a local family.
Day 1: Arrival
A driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Beijing. The rest of the day is free.
Day 2 (Meals: L)
You’ll start out from your hotel at 08:30 and begin the tour with a visit to the stunning Temple of Heaven, which was the site of annual prayer ceremonies conducted by emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Afterwards you’ll stop at a well-known government silk factory to learn about China’s famous silk culture.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and then head to Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public areas in the world. The Square is home to the National Museum of China, the Mao Zedong Mausoleum, and the Monument to the People’s Heroes. Enter the magnificent Forbidden City, a 250-acre complex of courtyards, pavilions, palaces, and gardens. This was China’s imperial palace for over 500 years.
Enjoy an amazing Chinese acrobatics show before returning to your hotel at around 19:00.
Day 3 (Meals: L)
You’ll depart from your hotel at 08:30 for the Great Wall, stopping along the way to see the Bird’s Nest, the stadium that hosted many events of the 2008 Summer Olympics.
When you reach the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall you’ll have time to appreciate the wonder of this spectacular feat of construction and the beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Stop at a local restaurant for lunch before continuing on to the Summer Palace. Renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace has been listed as a World Heritage Site and its garden is considered to be one of the world’s classics.
Ride a rickshaw to the Drum Tower and then visit a local family in their home. Later you’ll enjoy a tea ceremony and learn about Chinese tea culture before returning to the hotel at around 18:00.

The price quoted is for day tours of 8 to 9 hours. Any additional hours are billed at USD 15.00 per hour for the guide and USD 15.00 per hour for the driver.
