Starting from Beijing, travel to to Xi'an and Shanghai to explore the best visited places like the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum and the Bund. Have a la carte meals to taste the authentic Chinese food.
What to Expect
Day 1: Arrival in Beijing
Upon your arrival at Beijing airport, your guide will be waiting for you outside the customs area of Beijing Airport, and then transfer you to the hotel. Relax during the remainder of the day.

Day 2: Beijing
Visit to the world famous Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City this morning. An a la carte lunch at a famous and elegant restaurant will be especially arranged. In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Heaven. The evening will be highlighted by a lively Chinese Kung Fu Show at Red Theatre (Green Seats Area). (B+L)

Day 3: Beijing
Visit the Badaling Great Wall and a jade factory in the morning. The restaurants nearby the sites are of low quality, so the lunch is not included today. It may best to have a big breakfast and take some snacks from the hotel. Or you may ask your guide for suggestions. Then visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb. The whole day's sightseeing will come to an end after seeing the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium) on the way to the urban area. (B)

Day 4: Beijing - Xian
Visit the Summer Palace and a pearl store. An a la carte lunch at a fancy restaurant with delicious food and great atmosphere will be served. In the afternoon, following your guide, you will trace the old Beijing culture by walking through the original Hutong alleys, appreciate the oldest gray brick courtyard residence and capture the lifestyles of local families. Take a flight to Xi'an and check in at the hotel. (B+L)

Day 5: Xian
Visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum and a pottery factory. Afterwards, a special and authentic homely cooked a la carte lunch at a local family will be served, then you will visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. A splendid evening is in store when you will be entertained by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show when partaking of the famous Dumpling Dinner. (Tips: Dumplings are a traditional local food in northern China and are made of wheat flour with various indigenous fillings. This has long been a favourite food of the local people, so you are advised to have a taste of this speciality today. You will also have an opportunity to learn more about the diversified Chinese food culture. However, you are suggested do not expect too much from this dinner, it is just a new and different experience during your trip.) (B+L+D)

Day 6: Xian - Shanghai
Visit the ancient City Wall and the Shaanxi History Museum in the morning. An a la carte lunch is served at a well-known local restaurant. In the afternoon, take a flight to Shanghai and your local guide will transfer you to the hotel. (B+L)  

Accommodation: Grand Mercure Shanghai Zhongya (4 stars) 

Day 7: Shanghai
Visit Shanghai Museum, the Yuyuan Garden and a silk shop. An a la carte farewell lunch will be served at a popular local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Bund, Nanjing Road and an ancient cultural street, Tianzifang, which developed from a local residence area to a new art zone combing artistic centers, exotic restaurants and bars. Upon returning to the hotel your tour guide will see you into the lobby to say bon voyage. (B+L)

Day 8: Departure from Shanghai
Please find your own way to the airport according to your flight schedule. (B)
