What to Expect
In the morning, your guide and driver will wait for you at the hotel lobby. At 09:00 am, depart from your hotel in a comfortable car and your sightseeing tour begins at the largest square in the world, Tiananmen Square. Take a leisure stroll around the grand site, and listen as the guide explains the historical and cultural significance of the square and other impressive structures around it.
Next on your agenda is the Forbidden City that is sitting across the square. It was home to 24 emperors and served as the political center of China for over five centuries. Your guide will escort you to take a tour around the ancient palace complex. Well-preserved magnificent halls will transfer you back to the glory days of imperial China. After visiting the Forbidden City,if weather permits, take a bird view of the Forbidden City from Jingshan Hill in Jingshan Park.
Then, you will move into Hutong area by a rickshaw. This portion of the tour allows you to gain insight into traditional neighborhood of Beijing and get to know how local people live their daily life as you travel through the narrow alleys. The tour will finish approximately around 5:00pm. You will be dropped off at your hotel.
