We went on this tour on our first day in Beijing. This was an ideal introduction to Beijing. A walking tour around the old town and enjoying delicious street food. We started out in the food market, seeing and sampling the different types of food (fresh and cooked) the stall holders were selling. We moved southwards towards the Hutong and went past the Bell and Drum Towers. Two places that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. Ming was our guide, his English was good and he was knowledgeable about the food, history and culture of Beijing. Amongst the food we sampled included skewers, spring onion pancakes and Peking dumplings. We ended up near Shichahai station which is surrounded by restaurants and Ming left us by a lake which is stunning at night. So impressed were we that we returned with the rest of our wider tour group a couple of days later. Overall, this set us up nicely for our stay in Beijing and was a good orientation to the city. I would recommend this tour and this guide.

The tour and our guide Lily was great! First we walked to a nearby local market, where we saw local vegetables, spices and a whole section for all kinds of meats, and we tried some street food from vendors of the market. We then went to other places and restaurants and tried so many different foods. Lily was very helpful and answered all our questions and shared her knowledge of the places we went to and the food. We spotted some berries of some sort while walking to another place, and Lily bought them for us to try. All in all it was a great experience!

the Chinese clearly do not believe in samples; they will give you enough food to feed at least a couple of people and then you move on the next place where the process repeats itself. Lucy is a great guide too, she keeps firing up info about the food and the city amd really cares about your experience, which males you feel good from beginning to end of the tour. I highly reccommend it.

Linda showed us through a traditional marketplace and we tasted many different varieties of foods. Linda's English was excellent and she provided us with an excellent understanding of the local area and Chinese cuisine. Linda arranged so many food tastings during the trip we could not fit another mouthful in at the end.

It was great. Lilly was a great guide and we saw and ate great things!

Really a great way to be introduced to Beijing food and neighborhoods. I saw an area I would not have seen but for going on this 2-hour tour, the food was great and I could have easily just found food near my hotel but this forced me to do something that was different and get a wonderful experience!
