What to Expect
Explore China’s imperial past on this full-day tour to the Badaling section of the Great Wall of China, and to the 13 tombs of the Ming Dynasty on the slope of Tianshou Mountain.

The Great Wall is known throughout the world as a testament to Chinese engineering and ingenuity, and as a monument of human endeavor. The 6-hour tour to the Badaling section rewards you with some of the most inspiring views of the rollercoaster of masonry, as it snakes into the distance over hills and mountains.

The Badaling section is also one of the best preserved subdivisions of the Ming Dynasty’s Great Wall, and faithfully retains its original appearance. Divided into 2 sections, east and west, both short and long sections can be walked, with most people preferring to climb the east section where the highest watch tower is located.

A cable car is available to the east section, and provides a tranquil means of viewing the breathtaking scenery. Modern conveniences, cafés, and souvenir stalls are located at the end of the walk, providing a well-deserved rest.

Continue to the 13 Tombs of the Ming Dynasty emperors on the southern slope of Tianshou Mountain. The site was carefully selected on the ancient principles of Feng Shui by the 3rd Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty. After the construction of the Imperial Palace in 1420, the Yongle Emperor selected his burial site and created his own sacred Mausoleum.

From the Yongle Emperor onwards, 13 Ming Dynasty Emperors were buried in the stunning area of old world charm, located at the end of the Spirit Way. Stroll down the ornate road, flanked with statues of guardian animals and imperial officials, and adorned with a fabulous front gate consisting of 3 red arches.
