This full-day tour of Old Beijing takes you to explore the ancient parts of the city. Your knowledgeable guide will take you on a biking and walking adventure while giving you details about each landmark’s history.
Your tour begins at the East Imperial City Wall Relics Park, which dates to the Ming Dynasty in the 15th century. From the City Wall Relics Park, you will bike along a moat to the Forbidden City, a former imperial palace that was home to Chinese emperors for more than 500 years. Here, you can take advantage of the opportunity to hop off your bike and walk around the beautifully preserved palace.
Other sites visited on this tour include the Temple of Heaven, used during the Ming and Qing Dynasties in annual ceremonies asking heaven for good harvests; Tiananmen Square, the third largest city square in the world; and, the famous hutongs, narrow alleyways that date back to the Zhou Dynasty (1027 - 256 BC). You will also visit the Prince’s Mansion, Imperial Academy, President’s House, the National Theater, and numerous parks.
