What to Expect
Your tour begins with collection from your hotel lobby in the morning. The first destination is Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world. This is where Chairman Mao announced the establishment of the People's Republic of China, and it has been at the heart of China's history since it was built.
Next, proceed with your guide to the Forbidden City - the world’s largest and best-preserved palace complex. Twenty-four emperors lived and exercised their supreme power from here. You will see spectacular imperial architecture and sumptuous treasures, and hear many stories about the luxurious lives of Chinese royal families.
After the visit, if the weather permits, you will get a bird's-eye view of the Forbidden City from Jingshan Hill in Jingshan Park. Next, head to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, famous for its breathtaking scenery. Your knowledgeable guide will explain its history on the way. The round-trip cable car over the picturesque scenery will take you up and down the mountains to give you more time hike the most interesting part. By 17:00 you will be returned to your hotel.
