Enjoy a complimentary hotel pick-up and transfer from your centrally located Vilnius hotel or accommodation to Riga through the Hill of Crosses in Siauliai and Rundale palace in Latvia, with a possible stop at Bauska castle in Latvia. The drive to the Hill of Crosses will be about 2.5 hours from Vilnius. The Hill of Crosses has about 100,000 crosses and is an historical architectural monument and a unique composition of folk art. It is said that first crosses were erected here by the next-of-kin of the rebels that fell in the 1831 rebellion. The Hill of crosses attracts people with its spirituality, authenticity, and sacred nature and was visited by Pope John Paul II. After exploring this site, you will head to Rundale Palace, which is an approximately 40-minute drive. Rundale Palace is one of the two major baroque palaces built for the Dukes of Courland in what is now Latvia. In 1735 Duke of Courland Ernst Johann von Biron bought land in Rundale with an old medieval castle in the territory of a planned summer residence. The old castle was demolished and construction after the design of Bartolomeo Rastrelli started in 1736. Your drive to Riga after your visit to the palace is approximately 1 hour.

If you are travelling from Riga to Vilnius, we can offer several stops on the way like the Latvian Rundale Palace and it's beautiful garden, with second stop at Bauska Medieval Castle to explore it's museum and have a view from top of the tower. Such a transfer will take about 7 to 8 hours. Our drivers will advise the best local restaurants for lunch if you will require and provide WC and coffee stops on the route. A chauffeur will arrive at your hotel to pick you up and show you all the beautiful sites. In the end, the same chauffeur will drop you at your hotel in Vilnius city.

This is your opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the palace with no queues. Free time to enjoy the palace, and gardens and also to have lunch here, if you wish. And last but not least - visit the unique Hill of Crosses in Lithuania! Now you can tick off another country in your list as there will be a border crossing! We'll organize comfy transportation, good and professional drivers, and printout sheets with information about all of these sites so you can enjoy everything at your own pace. Please know that you can bring a cross to the Hill of Crosses if you wish. There are also locals selling crosses on site. The tour runs if there are at least 3 people booked for the day.

You’ll spend 2 hours exploring the grand Golden Hall and White Hall, where lavish parties and royal events were once held, and strolling through the Rose Garden with its hundreds of blooming roses. Take your time to immerse yourself in the beauty and history of this impressive estate. 2. Bauska Castle – A Fortress from the Middle Ages (1 hour) Next, we head to Bauska Castle, located on a hill where the Mūsa and Mēmele rivers meet. This impressive site includes the ruins of a 15th-century fortress and a later Renaissance residence. You’ll spend 1 hour here, exploring the medieval castle ruins, learning about its history as a key defense point in the region, and visiting the Renaissance wing, where you’ll discover how the nobility once lived. Make sure to climb the tower for a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside. 3. Hill of Crosses – A Place of Faith and Hope (1 hour) Our final stop is the iconic Hill of Crosses in Lithuania. This sacred site is covered with thousands of crosses placed by pilgrims over the years as symbols of faith, hope, and resilience. You’ll spend 1 hour wandering through the hill, taking in the powerful atmosphere, and seeing crosses of all sizes and designs. It’s a deeply moving place that holds special meaning for many, especially during times of political and religious repression. This tour gives you a mix of rich history, breathtaking architecture, and spiritual reflection, with 2 hours at Rundale Palace, and 1 hour each at Bauska Castle and the Hill of Crosses. It’s a full day that offers something for everyone, whether you're fascinated by royal history, medieval fortresses, or places of faith. Be collected at your accommodation in Riga and be driven straight to the region of Bauska city. Visit several palaces from the 18th century and one crusader's castle from the 16th century. Rundāle Palace, formerly Ruhenthal then Ruhendahl, is one of two major baroque palaces built for the Dukes of Courland in what is now Latvia. The other is Jelgava Palace. Rundāle Palace was built in two periods, from 1736 until 1740 and from 1764 until 1768. It is situated at Pilsrundāle, 12 km west of Bauska.  Bauska Castle is a complex consisting of the ruins of an earlier castle and a later palace on the outskirts of the Latvian city of Bauska. Either choose a restaurant for dinner or your driver can arrange a picnic if you prefer.
