Full description
Depart Kuala Lumpur or Petaling Jaya at your chosen time (09:00 or 14:00) and journey towards Batu Caves, passing through Little India and the Brickfields neighborhood, known for its colorful streets and unique shops. After a 30-minute scenic drive, arrive at the Batu Caves to discover the home of Hindu shrines and various religious deities. Listen as your guide explains the Hindu roots of the nation and climb the 272 steps to the golden statue of Lord Murugan. Once at the top, go to Cathedral Cave to see the largest cave in the complex, and hear about the background to this most intricate of Hindu shrines.  Then, drive to Thean Hou Temple, a 6-tiered pagoda temple atop Robson Heights. Completed in 1987 and officially opened in 1989, it was built by the Hainanese community of Kuala Lumpur and is dedicated to the goddess Tian Hou (The Heavenly Mother). Continue to China Town to enter the site of dozens of restaurants and food stalls tended by Chinese, Indian, Malay and Bangladeshi traders. Watch as they serve up local favorites, such as curry noodles, Hokkien mee (a Fujian noodle dish), ikan bakar (barbecued fish) and asam laksa (a sour, fish and tamarind-based soup). Next, see the stunning National Mosque of Malaysia (Masjid Negara), set in 13 acres of beautiful gardens. Admire the bold approach taken by its architects who designed it in the late 1950s as a symbol of the aspirations of the newly independent nation. Benefit from a hotel drop off at the end of the tour services.

You have to know that is not really a guided tour, at least not in the sense I thought it would be. They provide you a car just for you for the whole tour and the driver is also the guide but only as long you are in the car. At the places you are gonna visit, there is no guide . Our driver/guide was a very decent, respectful guy who knew many things about watherver we asked, but I repeat only in the car and not at the visited places, there you are on your own.

This activity is more of a car ride, but you get a lot of insights from the driver. We were lucky to find a volunteer guide at the National Mosque, so we got a lot of interesting info there. Overall, it's a nice short activity to understand the diversity of religions in Malaysia.

We were picked up right on time by our driver and guide Louis. First we went to the chinese temple where we were introduced to the religion and meaning behind the temple, the gods etc. Afterwards we made a quick stop by the royal palce (which wasn't planned in the tour but there was time for it), took some pictures and then went on to the national mosque. We got dressed properly at the entrance to the mosque and explored it all by ourselves. Afterwards we made our way to the Batu Caves. During the drive our guide told us a lot about the different religions and cultures in KL. The Batu Caves were really interesting, and the 272 steps are not too hard to climb ;) The only thing we didn't like was all the trash that was lying around there and that you are allowed to feed the monkeys there, which makes it easy for them to walk up to humans and try to steal stuff. Afterwards we went to a silk and chocolate factory before we got dropped off back at the hotel. Overall we had a great time!
