Alexandre Souza is a fabulous guide. I highly recommend him to anyone. I will ask for him again. His English is excellent. We covered many subjects during our time together. We did a lot of laughing as he has a great sense of humor. He possesses a tremendous knowledge of history, not only of Portugal but Brazil, Africa and other places. He was so very helpful in Fátima. We walked all around the various Apparition sites. He spoke with locals who told us stories they heard from their grandparents about the Apparitions and the Miracle of the Sun. After Fátima, we took a trip to Sintra. Here, Alexandre Souza really shines. He knows Sintra like his own hand. He lives there. My time was short but in that time He made sure I saw a lot. He explained in detail what I was seeing and the historical importance and background of the palaces, Quintas and the tunnel system developed by the Moors for defensive purposes. When you come to Portugal, go to get your guide and ask for Alexandre Souza.

Our self- guided tour did not happen- after a delay, we were offered a full day tour to Fatima, Batalha, Nazare, and Obidos at no extra cost, which we took, even though we had previously seen above sites- tour guide Ana was wonderful, spoke three languages fluently, and went out of her way to make this tour a great experience for us, letting us have her front row seats -and the tour wasn’t rushed even after the morning delay and some road construction traffic-

Wonderful 1/2 day trip. We were able to attend mass. I think the trip could have been just a little longer. We had to leave mass early and we were not able to shop. Daniella was great and we enjoyed him
