We spent three hours enjoying the streets of Bari under the explanation of our fantastic guide Chiara who explained the history, culture and traditions to us in a pleasant way. Along the way we were able to dance, play an instrument and sing with a local musician and towards the end of the tour we were able to try the focaccia in the panifico fiore, the salumi, cheese, glass of wine. Also delicious ice cream and freshly made Polenta in the beautiful Plaza del Amor. We had a great afternoon.

Fredrica told the city in an interesting way, with lots of interesting facts and anecdotes. The food portions were very large and we had a chance to try most of the local delicacies. The trip will easily replace one or even two full meals ;) We highly recommend it, especially at the beginning of your stay to have a chance to take advantage of all the recommended attractions and places.

Chiara was a fabulous tour guide. Got there are 11am outside a tourist office looking shop. Checked in, there was 6 of us in total. We walked to main square, had a 10 mins talk about the history and trade then we walked to the first food place, had a plate of meats and salami and a small glass of wine with a couple of olives. Then had a history talk. Then walked to a food place where we had a mini piping hot calzone. Then we walked to the lion statue where legend says if you hug the lion you’ll become rich in money so I grabbed him hard. Then we went and got some Focaccia where we ate that on the stairs of an old church (the only bit I think could have been better, was a bit of a sporadic decision as no seating anywhere) then we walked to St Nicolas church, was beautiful inside. Then we went to Pasta lane where nearby we had the most delicious ice cream. You were allowed to have 2 scoops of flavours in the same tub and then walked backed to where we started where the your finished.
