Explore Nuremberg on a guided walk with a visit to a brewery. Discover the most beautiful sights in the city on foot including Albrecht Dürer's House and the Imperial Castle. Stroll past the main market square, where the annual Nuremberg Christmas Market is held, attracting up to 2 million visitors each time. Visit a microbrewery and taste delicious beers. Franken is known for its good beer and an unknown author once fittingly said: “Beer is among the most useful drinks, the tastiest foods, and the most pleasant drugs”. True to this motto, you can taste red beer, cool pale beer, or the house drink.

Dark Lager and Nuremberg Red Beer

Visited 2 brew houses (microbrewery plus a restaurant serving traditional Franconian food in Bavaria). One brewery (Barfusser, barefooter monks who brew beer in the past) is housed in a former custom collection building during the middle ages when Nuremberg was a major trading center along with Augsburg. I tried a dark lager. Second brewery is also a small microbrewery with restaurant serving the same type of food as above, and there is a underground tour associated with this Brauhaus. In the middle ages, beer was brewed down in the underground cellars/tunnels. I tried the red beer. Both beers were a good experience. My guide also took me on a quick walk through the old town. I did sign up for the cellar-tunnel tour with the second brewery for an additional 5 euros, very reasonable. On the tour, the English speaking tourists were given an audio guide, while the guide spoke german to German tourists. Most of the guests were German speaking.

Short, very nice tour that older people can do too. Only the ascent to the castle is a little strenuous, but our 76-year-old oldie has mastered it. From above you have a great view of Nuremberg. During the tour there are two opportunities to taste fantastic beers and a whiskey distillery is also visited. The guide was friendly and competent. We recommend.

This is a fantastic tour

You should take this tour early in your visit so that you can learn about the areas that interest you the most. If you enjoy beer in your native land then you will certainly appreciate seeing a few local breweries. The pace is just right and our guide Ben was very informative. Prost!

Excellent, best city walking tour I have ever been on!

Superb, our guide Brent was absolutely first class nothing was too much trouble. His knowledge and detail provided was first class. Also, his knowledge of the brewery pubs and the city eating establishments was brilliant!
