For the Montserrat Monastery tour, the guide will be waiting on Av. del Marquès de l'Argentera, 6 with a sign of Amigo Tours. You can arrive by the subway line L4 to the "Barceloneta" station, once there, take the exit to "Plaça Pau Vila". You can arrive also on bus line 47. The meeting point is at the main entrance of the station. For the Sagrada Familia tour, meet your guide at 3:30 PM at Mallorca Street 416. Emporio Souvenirs Shop.

Know before you go

  • -These are two different tours. When the tour to Montserrat finishes, you will have some free time in Barcelona on your own until 3:30 PM
  • -You may have different tour guides on each tour
  • -It is recommended you do not carry big bags to facilitate access to the Sagrada Familia and reduce the time at the security control
  • -The Sagrada Familia regulations state that children under the age of 11 will not receive a headset to listen to the guide and their ID may be required
  • -The Sagrada Familia is a Holy temple, please dress appropriately
  • -Keep in mind that there are queues to access Sagrada Familia due to security checks

This tour was booked as a combo tour lasting 7 hours! Much to my dismay the visit to Sagrada was not until 3:30pm! I had gotten on the Monserrat tour at 6:45, got off at 11:30! I was thinking I would either stay on the same bus or at least be finished the Combo tour at 2:30 (7 hours). Little did I know I needed to catch the metro and the tour didn’t start until 3:30! I am physically disabled so this timing and the metro ride didn’t suit! Needless to say I wasn’t able to make the second portion of the Combo tour!

This excursion is a great way to catch two renowned churches, Monserrat and La Sagrada Família. However, Monserrat gets busy at the point where we were to meet with the Black Madonna which took a lot of our time to take in the rest of the beautiful site. As for the Sagrada Família, the 3 hour wait between excursions, the lack of transport to the church and the fact that we did not have “tower passes” made this part slightly less alluring. This said, La Sagrada Família is an amazing work of art and well worth visiting.

Vi hadde en flott dag fullstappet av opplevelser! At turen opp til Montserrat begynte så tidlig var veldig bra. Vi slapp køer og vi fikk sett område i en ro som var nydelig å kjenne på. Har kun 1 minus: Guiden utenfor La Sagrada Familia viste ingen skilt, så hun forsvant i mengden- og vi holdt på å miste vår tur. Men hun var videre så dyktig at vi glemte vår litt hektiske start. Det er selvfølgelig mye å oppleve på en dag, men det var den dagen i Barcelona vi husker best :-)
