    The experience starts in the upper part of Passeig de Gràcia, before journeying by bus to experience the natural splendor of Montserrat. Catalonia’s most emblematic mountain. On the way to the monastery, admire the Massif of Montserrat, a spectacular multi-peaked rocky range packed with unique needle-shape formations.

    Upon arrival, visit the monastery with over 70 monks that was founded in the 11th century and still functions to this day. It is well known for hosting the figure of La Moreneta, who is the patron saint of Catalonia. Your guide will bring history alive by explaining the history and ventures of this monastery dating back nearly a thousand years.     This was a really great day trip out of the city. The hike was not as bad as expected, as it was a fairly even path, although slightly steep at times, but worth it for the views. Montserrat is a gorgeous spot to visit, and I feel like this trip was the perfect amount of time to get a feel and explore the area. Roger the guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable!

    The tour is a good combination of cultural program and hike. A ride on the cable car was not necessary, as the small bus drove us up to the monastery. If you want to hike downhill, you have to take the cogwheel train up, which only takes about 5 minutes. The tour was a lot of fun and is highly recommended.

    The meeting place was very easy to find, the ride to Monserrat was smooth and comfortable in a coach van. Our guide, Adrian, was very friendly and incredibly resourceful! He is a wealth of knowledge about Monserrat. We had plenty of time to explore the monastery before taking the tram up to the peak, and they hike back down to the monastery was comfortable and scenic. My travel buddies and I highly recommend this experience! WELL worth the cost!
