If you want to do any of the hikes AND thoroughly check out the buildings you may want to do the full day. For me the half day was perfect as it allowed me plenty of time to wander around and experience the monastery and I still had time to enjoy Barcelona in the late afternoon and evening. IMPORTANT: if you want to hear the boys choir inside the basilica you need to make separate reservations ahead of time, or take your chances in the no-reservation line. You can still watch a livestream in the courtyard but I wish I’d known this ahead of time. This is not a site to miss if you get a chance to go here! It’s purely breathtaking and majestic.

Well organized, well equipped. But if you are not prepared for tough hiking and just want to see breathtaking views and a bit of history be prepared to pay extra ( entrance to museum, cable car ride...). Otherwise you will be left to spend three hours in the place you can walk around in 15 minutes. There are beautiful trails (takes approximately 2 hours with step climbing) if you feeling energetic. Well worth seeing, but not half day tour for us.
