Full description
After a 1.5 hour pleasant drive in an air-conditioned minivan, you will reach Tossa de Mar, located in the heart of Costa Brava. Get ready and start hiking across the famous Camí de Ronda coastline path. This trail connects all Costa Brava towns from north to south. Camí de Ronda will bring you to areas of great natural beauty. Enjoy unique views of the beautiful Mediterranean sea, breathtaking cliffs hanging over the sea and small hidden coves, where you have free time to swim in its transparent waters and sunbath. Fragrances from pine trees, rosemary and thyme will follow you along the way. The Camí de Ronda will bring you back to Tossa de Mar where you will enjoy some free time to have lunch. A traditional local restaurant can be booked for you. After lunch, you have the chance to visit Tossa de Mar, an ancient fishermen’s village with important historical background. Walk around the emblematic Vila Vella, also known as the old town, the sole remaining fortified medieval town on the Catalan coast dating from the 13th century. Behind the impressive city walls and defensive towers, you will find a labyrinth of narrow streets and alleys surrounded by beautiful white houses that give the town a true Mediterranean atmosphere.

This trip was my favorite day of our nine day holiday in Barcelona. This is such a beautiful place, and we loved an escape from the big city to the calm, quiet coast. Our group included myself, my husband, and our two daughters, ages 8 and 6. The hike was about 10km, so I was concerned about the kids being able to do it (at least while keeping a good attitude), but our guide Ramón was very patient with us if the kids needed to stop for breaks, and he gave us time at each of the coves for the kids to play in the sand and water. We never felt rushed, which is how hiking with children needs to be: leisurely and at their own pace. Lunch was amazing, and the guided tour around the old city was fascinating - so nice to have someone there to explain the stories behind what you’re seeing instead of just wandering through on your own. Tossa de Mar is a lovely little town, and I would consider an entire holiday there - a perfect little beach town with plenty of history and beauty to enjoy.

Fantastic hike and tour of old city with Ramon. Having grown up in the region, and an experienced guide, he is informative, friendly and a good conversationalist. My daughter and I enjoyed the lovely views on the hike and traipsing around the walled city. Having studied in England, Ramon is extraordinarily proficient in English. We also enjoyed hearing about his own extensive travels through Africa, South America and Norway. 10/10 recommend!
