The Amatller House Museum, a key work of the architect Puig i Cadafalch, is one of the most exceptional buildings of modernist Catalan architecture in Barcelona and one of the most comprehensive house museums of Catalan Modernism. Amatller House Museum is an authentic hidden treasure in the heart of the city which conserves all of its splendor and the essence of the beginning of the century thanks to the existence of all of its original furniture and decoration, the fruit of extensive and careful restoration. It was designed in 1898 by the industrialist chocolatier Amatller Antoni, who had made his fortune by introducing industrial production methods into the family chocolate company Amatller Chocolates Visit the Amatller House Museum without queueing with your priority entrance ticket and discover the beauty of this modernist work. At the beginning of the visit, a guide who is specialized in the history of art will be waiting for you at the ticket booth, which is located in the main entrance of the building, to accompany you through the lobby and the main staircase until you reach the remarkable noble floor, the home of the Amatller family. Well organized tour. Intimate and informative. Good to see a grand building by an architect other than Gaudi. No big crowds as at Casa Batlló next door, which is of course worth visiting. Insightful to understand competitive nature of the well-to-do of Barcelona in late 1800s/early 1900s as they sought to outdo each other. The chocolate drink at the end was a nice touch, and fitting in the house built by a chocolate entrepreneur!

Guide was very well informed and provided a very enjoyable and educational tour of such a beautiful residence. The experience of seeing this home was much better than expected. It was truly wonderful to see the interiors as they were originally, and so well maintained.
