Full description

Skip the lines and delve into the history and work of Picasso with an expert guide. Explore the formative years of Pablo Picasso and discover the genius of the young artist by admiring the 4,251 pieces that make up the permanent collection. Meet the guide at the museum entrance and, after a short explanation, admire the collection and temporary exhibit, providing a thorough chronology of Picasso's development as an artist.

Admire work from his early days in Barcelona through his major later periods, visiting masterworks like "Science and Charity", "Royan", and "Las Meninas", a reinterpretation of the Velazquez painting of the same name. The Picasso Museum, opened in 1963, also reveals the artist's deep relationship with Barcelona: an intimate relationship that was shaped in his youth and continued until his death. The discussion will finish with a focus on Picasso's contemporaries and his lasting influence on the art world. At the end of the tour, the guide will leave you to continue your exploration at your own pace and will be happy to offer recommendations on other sites of interest.

Olga Escribano explained to us Picasso’s creative journey so comprehensive that we’ve been able to understand not only his different painting techniques & moods but also integrate this in history of art movements. She studied art, speaks several languages and as a native Catalonian she gave us a long list of recommendations for best restaurants in Barcelona. Do you know what cubism is? Or that impressionist, modern and avant-garde or quite the same? Go for this tour, it’s really good, enriching, pleasant and cool. Thank you Olga!

Very nice. Gina was engaging and kind. There was one item I want to share. I had trouble finding the meeting place. I called the phone number for help and asked for an English speaking person. I was connected to someone but they didn’t understand English well. Luckily, I found the group by myself. found them at 10:16am. I felt badly being tardy. Gina was excellent and I enjoyed very much.
