Travel off the beaten path and explore the Raval, the most infamous neighborhood in Barcelona. El Raval is Barcelona’s peculiar red light district where you can find hidden pieces or urban art, legally buy marijuana, and where prostitution is socially decriminalized. On this tour you will discover why and how this is possible in Barcelona, while usually forbidden in most other European cities. You will also learn about anarchist revolutions, 20th Century Dictators and the history of street art in this intriguing district as you wander its charismatic streets, absorbing its unique atmosphere. You can ask questions about usually censored topics, and how they are related to the revolutions, revolts, and dictatorships that have shaped the city. You will learn all about this while searching through and discussing some of the city’s coolest street art and graffiti.

This was small, interesting tour through one of the historical districts of Barcelona. Guide was very supportive, helpful and had a lot of knowledge of theme he was presenting. I would recommend this as price/quality ration tour in beginning of your visit to Barcelona. Don't forget that live in Spain is not cheap so small donation is appreciated for your guide!

Fascinating non-everyday tour

I’ve done many tours in Barcelona but this one was totally different from all the others. The neighborhood of El Raval is a fascinating one and there is a lot to tell about this multicultural neighborhood. That’s exactly what our guide Franco did, telling us fascinating things about what’s going on in El Raval. He did this with great respect for the people who live and work here and without any judgement. It was absolutely clear that Franco loves Barcelona and being a guide. Recommended tour.
