Great way to get oriented with the city and to see what you want to explore later in your trip. We did this tour (the 24 hour ticket) on our first full day in the city, and it was amazing to be taken around to all the sites and to get some background on them. This was my first hop-on hop-off tour, and I feel like it really helped me learn the different parts of the city and to get oriented. The buses come pretty frequently, I don’t think we waited any longer than 10 minutes for each stop. The only one that was busy enough where we didn’t get on the first bus we were waiting for was at Sagrada Familia, which is understandable. We did the blue route in the morning, and the red in the afternoon, and had enough time to stop at few sights, get some pictures and explore, and get back on. If I were to book it again, or for another city, I might consider booking the 48 hour ticket and really planning the stops out and using the bus as a true means of transportation, rather than just a tour.

I was travelling with my 5 year old and this was the only way I was going to get to see the sights with minimal walking and whining 😅 Our 1-day tickets were valid for 24 hours, so we did the red route one afternoon and the blue route the following morning.

As a solo traveller in Barcelona, the tour bus was a great thing to do. I bought a two-day ticket, and on the first day I went on both the blue and red routes without getting off the bus (great way to sunbathe whilst seeing the beautiful sights of Barcelona), after having been around on the routes “full-circle” I then chose the areas I wanted to explore further and I used the second day to get off at all the stops that interested me whilst I was going around on the first day. You get a map of the city/routes, so I recommend taking a pen and circling where you want to see on the map. The port and barceloneta beach were fab, and the Sagrada Familia was stunning- the bus stop is directly outside the entrance too! The staff were extremely helpful too, very friendly and highly intelligent (they speak so many different languages!). I bought my ticket online 5 minutes before I got on the bus, and couldn’t find the barcode for them to scan which is sent in an email (at the very bottom) ...
