With a public transport ticket that offers unlimited travel for 2 days or more, you’ll be able to get around Barcelona and the surrounding area and save yourself time and money. Discover Barcelona at your leisure as you travel by the metro, buses, and trams as many times as you like. Before beginning your adventure, head to a Tourist Information Office and exchange your voucher. Visit the city’s landmarks and monuments at your own pace on a pass that’s valid for an unlimited number of journeys on the metro and buses operated by Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), trains operated by the Generalitat city network, and the tram and Renfe suburban trains. A pass to connect with the Barcelona airport line is included. Your public transportation ticket is valid for 48, 72, 96, or 120 consecutive hours after the validation date (depending on the option chosen).

For me the subway is not so clear. The destinations have different names. That's how I recognize it. Difficult Central Station on all lines. Why isn't it just Central Station, but has all kinds of other names on different lines?

You can download the Hola Barcelona app that will help to tell you which bus, metro, tram etc. you need to take, however I found the Google maps provides you with this information anyway if you select the public transport option. Well worth getting for hassle free travel around the city. Please note, this does not include the Areobus to and from the Airport, we tried to get on and we're refused, we did find an alternative way to get in to the city however on another bus that was included in the ticket. We also struggled to locate the ticket office to exchange the e-voucher in the airport. We had to walk nearly the length of the Airport from arrivals to find the tourist information desk.

Having a pass for public transport is necessary. The only hiccup was converting the email to an actual pass. Nothing opened on time. We spent 3 extra hours in the airport trying to convert the email. Overall it’s brilliant however hard to negotiate. Proper would have been to purchase at the airport kiosk.
