This tour was amazing. Our bus driver Victor kept the AC on (July 1, 2025). Our guides Angie & Paulina we're upbeat and very knowledgeable. Our trip was safe, but to he totally transparent, Barcelona does have muggings that happen. When all our guests loaded the bus, the last to get on were our guides, Angie & Paulina. They hurd a woman screaming at people shouting behind us. They ran over to a different tour group to assist. Our driver Victor, got off the bus, closed the door to keep us safe, and stood guard. Our guides called the police and the robber was caught. The lady did recover her belongings, but was very shaken as you would imagine. Our guides called the office and got our drop off location changed for security. Robbers are now clocking tour groups because they keep a schedule. Very well done by Angie & Paulina for regrouping and giving us a great tour! Definitely five stars!

Full description

Begin by meeting your guide in the center of Barcelona, from where your unique experience begins. Join your small group in an air-conditioned vehicle for the journey up the mountain of Montserrat.

Enjoy the views as you hear about Montserrat’s Basilica and Monastery, home of La Moreneta (Black Madonna). Unlike other tours, this experience allows you to gain early access to visit the Montserrat Monastery, well before the crowds arrive.

Upon your arrival, enjoy a 45-minute guided tour throughout which you learn about Montserrat including its secrets. This tour also sees you visiting the farmer’s market and entering the basilica.

Your guide then explains all the fun activities you can do with your 2 hours of free time following the guided tour. You can enter the museum, taste the monastery’s homemade liquor, go for an easy walk to the Saint Miguel Cross, take the Sant Joan Funicular, and much more.

Meeting point

Your guide will be waiting at the meeting point, holding a red burgundy umbrella. It is recommended to take a taxi to the meeting point to avoid any confusion. If you do so, make sure to tell the driver to take you to "Placeta de Vicenç Albert Ballester", so you can arrive without any problems. You can also get there by taking the metro. The closest station is "Arc de Triomf" (red line). Once you exit the metro, it's a 5-minute walk to the meeting point. Make sure to check how to arrive at the meeting point in advance.

  •  Montserrat is a mountain that stands at 1,236 meters, therefor the temperature differs from that of Barcelona (it is recommended that you wear comfortable clothes)

The Montserrat place itself is beautiful and the location is exotic. The Black Madonna representing the Blessed Virgin Mary is unique and miraculous according to the guide especially for those wishing to have children. Another must see visit when in Spain together with the Sagrada Familia.
