With a square, layered pyramid shape, it's one of the more dramatic sites on the tour, and climbing the terraces affords the most beautiful views in Siem Reap. Banteay Kdei is also known as 'the citadel of monks' cells'. It is partially overgrown with towering, sinewy trees.
