For our Dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya, we preferred to book on an old rice barge rather than on these large, very noisy yachts. And we chose the luxury version. And we have not regretted it. Welcome, in costume. Very quickly, the aperitif with its appetizers. Then the appetizers, very numerous, the shrimp soup, and a multitude of dishes. Finally the desserts. The whole, very tasty, nicely presented, a very varied choice. All our alcohols were included (luxury version): aperitif cocktails, wines, digestive. Without surprise. The boat was typical, the number of passengers is limited, the cruise takes place at a good pace, accompanied by music and traditional dances. The night view of the various monuments is magnificent. We had an excellent evening. In addition, while our hotel was not in the transfer area, we were driven back to our hotel.

Lots of charm for this cruise over the water, compared to the tasteless and noisy boats next door. Only regret, the dinner was dispatched in less than half an hour and we were practically removed from the dishes before we even finished, while there was 1 hour and 30 minutes of cruising. It was stressful and we barely got to enjoy the dishes, for that reason. We had to act quickly !!!! Otherwise price drinks without tax and 1100 bath for 2 glasses of champagne, a little expensive for the country. Also, although nice to be picked up and dropped off at the hotel, we had to drive an hour there and back (to pick up other guests) with an elderly driver who drove very badly, constantly braked in reason.

Small boat experience - much more civilised that the huge boats

We were so glad we had booked this cruise after having considered some of the larger boats. On seeing the huge boats with hundreds on board, it was a real pleasure to be limited to about 30 people. The food was EXCELLENT - in terms of variety, quality and quantity. Don't waste your time with the larger boats, we thoroughly enjoyed this part of our brief Bangkok stay.
