What to Expect
At around 08:00 hrs, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby and you drive northbound outside of the city in the direction of the Nonthaburi province. Arrival at a public ferry pier at Wat Sanam Nua, not far from the Pak Kret District Office and you cross the Chao Phaya River to the man-made island of Koh Kret. This tiny island is only accessible by boat and on the island lives a community of craftsmen famous for their distinctive style of pottery.
You will walk to visit this small community of craftsmen famous for their distinctive style of pottery, which dates back many centuries. The pottery is known for their fine, red-black glazed surface and folk design. They are all hand-made piece-by-piece and you can see the process. People live on Koh Kret and nearby are the descendants of the ethnic Mon people who managed to retain the skills of their forefathers.
Afterwards, continue to Suan Thip, a typical Thai House located on the Chao Phraya river bank, and enjoy a great Thai lunch here. The gardens here with the location on the river banks breathe serenity and make it a wonderful place to enjoy before you comfortably be taken back to your hotel in Bangkok.
