From Bangkok: Elephant Sanctuary and Kanchanaburi Tour

Prepare for a long day. The experience at the sanctuary is unforgettable, you get to feed lots of different elephants and see their different personalities. You also get to see how they are cared for. There are lots of opportunities to get great photos. It can be a bit scary being so close to such big animals but get stuck in and you will enjoy it more! Wear sandals when going in the river with the elephants and bring a full set of clothes to change as you will stink (there are lockers and showers). The local guide is amazing and will help you with all your questions. The sanctuary also put on a great lunch. After the tour to the river Kawi is a bit too short but the main thing is the elephants.

The pick up point was easy to get to and did not feel crowded. Our guide, Luke, was very, very good. We were amazed with his grasp of Thai and international history. Great stories and information - it made the 3 hour drive go quickly. We also liked the stop over at the Memorial Cemetery. We will certainly need to return and do the full River Kwai experience. The trip to Elephant’s World was brilliant. The activities gave us a good general insight to the care of the animals and how the team work together. The buffet lunch was varied, delicious and very filling. Our group guide ‘Goh’ was generous, funny and knowledgeable. Overall a great trip.

Breathtaking from start to finish. Must do in Bangkok. Driver was very kind and informative about the day. The drive was long but not awful. Once at the sanctuary elephants were roaming free and easy to see at all times. Through there was various actives involving the elephants such as collecting food and seeing other animals.
