Full description

Enjoy a small-group tour of the magnificent temple ruins of Ayutthaya, the capital during the golden age of Siam. All entrance fees, an expert guide, and lunch at a local restaurant are included. Travel from Bangkok in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle or choose to join the tour at your first stop in Ayutthaya, Wat Lokayasutha. This temple is known for its giant reclining Buddha image, one of the few structures remaining intact here. Your next stop is Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, being part of the royal palace complex this is where royalty performed rituals. It is considered the most important temple of Ayutthaya. Then, visit Wat Mahathat Ayutthaya. One of the oldest and most significant temples in the history of Ayutthaya, it once housed the Buddha's holy relic. Admire the famous Buddha head entwined within the roots of a Bodhi tree. After, tuck into a hearty lunch at a local Thai restaurant, where your guide will be available to advise on local culinary specialties. Last but not least, finish your trip at the grand, riverside Wat Chaiwattanaram. Marvel at its compelling architectural style, influenced by the Angkor Wat complex in Cambodia, as you wander around the monumental grounds.

Perfect day trip with the right balance of temples and instruction for our non-museum/tour family (12 & 14 yo) from Bangkok. Well-organized with thoughtful stops throughout. Our guide Sam was kind and informative. Lunch was simple and tasty with opportunity to taste local street foods. Great value and would definitely recommend.

This was a very informative trip. Sam is knowledgeable and patient. He explained the history of each of the temples in detail. We also got some time to try the traditional Thai attire which was available for rent at one of the temple premises. He also arranged for some manageable Vegetarian food. We also got some time to buy some souvenirs. Overall it was a good one-day outing. Thanks to Sam and the team for arranging it.

Great day out. Got back to Bangkok around 14.30 and was dropped right by the MRT station for easy ride to hotels. Tour guide had great Multi-linguistics, and knowledge of the area and temples. Selection of sights allowed for both guided tour time as well as approx 25mins of free time to walk and take photos at each stop. Tour guide was exceptional at making changes depending on tour party requirements. Very glad I chose this activity while here in Thailand!
