The whole trip ran efficiently. Our guide (Luke) was very friendly and informative and our driver was careful and safe unlike many other journeys in Bangkok. The day was carefully planned to avoid the rush of tourists- we reached the museum as it first opened, and joined the train in the last carriage. This meant that we didn't need to pay extra for a seat, and we were the first people off to reach the viewpoint and cave. Lunch was also excellent. Overall good value for money and we would recommend.

Our tour guide Luke was absolutely fantastic, great knowledge of the history relating to the tour and also super friendly. We were given lots of time at each stop on the tour and never felt rushed. Great value for money with lunch included also! Something different to go and learn about whilst in Bangkok - highly recommend! Note - we went in later November and it is VERY hot, make sure to bring fan/hat and water. Also wear sensible shoes as a part of the tour is in a cave which does have uneven ground.

Learn about the construction of the Burma Railway, also known as the “Death Railway,” on this 10-hour historical tour to Kanchanaburi, approximately 80 miles (130 kilometers) west of Bangkok. Upon arrival, you will tour the well-kept War Cemetery, where the graves of an estimated 9,000 Allied soldiers are tended. They perished while constructing the notorious "Death Railway,” which the Japanese had hoped would stretch all the way to the Burmese border. Uncover the terrible history of the railway at the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, an interactive museum, research, and information center dedicated to presenting the story of the Thailand-Burma Railway built during World War II. See the past recreated and relived with pictures and artifacts. You will also ride a train along the original Death Railway track, with a sumptuous lunch awaiting at the disembarkation station. Return to Bangkok in the late afternoon for your hotel drop-off.

  • Please note that there could be a delay in pick-up/drop-off schedule due to heavy traffic conditions in Bangkok
  • It takes approximately 3 hours to commute to Kanchanaburi one-way
  • The basic train ride fee included in the package does not guarantee a seat. If you would like to have an assigned seat, it is encouraged to pay 200 Baht upfront on the train
