I went as a solo traveller & wanted to go on this tour to expand my taste buds so I could stop ordering the same thing back home (England). Our tour guide, Johnny, was really good. he had a dry & great sense of humour & quite knowledgeable. It'll make sense when you go on this tour, he told us how to eat the food, as it came & then with the condiments - & it really does change the flavour! It was a tour of 8 people & wr got along really well. Shrimp dumplings & the Chive cakes were my favourite & I surprisingly liked the mango sticky rice! & the Thai green curry is nothing like you have back home, it's so much better! The portions are reasonable - 18 different items including traditional Thai drink/tea. I was pacing myself, or so I thought, but after the 8 dish, I was full (i have a small appetite), but carried on eating! I would definitely recommend this food tour!
I loved everything about the tour! We tried a lot of different foods. We could even have more servings of a food if we wanted. I was definitely full at the end of the tour. The guide was excellent - very informative and enthusiastic. The tour was very well organized - the people giving the tour worked very well together as a team. The guide explained things while another person would serve the food or go to the next stop to help set things up. The guides were also concerned about their customers- they made sure that everyone had a taxi at the end. I highly recommend this tour. I forgot the names of the guides- maybe beu and Am?

Meeting point
The meeting place is outside the Shanghai Mansion Bangkok hotel in Chinatown. You'll find a staff member wearing a black "A Chef's Tour" polo shirt. We'll take you to another nearby café/bar on a sidestreet, where you can use the restroom, and we'll get the group together before we start the tour.

What to bring
- Comfortable shoes
- Umbrella
- Weather-appropriate clothing
Know before you go
- Unsuitable for strict vegetarians or vegans (Sorry! most Thai cuisine has meat or seafood-based ingredients that we can't avoid).
- Pescatarians won't go hungry, but they would have 2-3 less tastings (out of 15 total) as some vendors do not have alternatives available.
- Unsuitable for severe allergies due to risk of traces and cross-contamination.
- Suitable for mild gluten intolerances, but we advise against celiac disease, as there are traces of gluten in unavoidable soy sauce.
- Other dietary restrictions may affect a couple of dishes, but we will certainly make sure you won't go hungry!
- Our tour goes to local backstreets where tuk-tuks cannot go, we are food-obsessed and avoid the tourist traps!
