This tour lets you experience the serene way of life in the early Bangkok communities along the Chao Phraya River and extensive network of canals.
What to Expect
Bangkok is definitely the jewel of Thailand, but there are still many hidden gems in this city waiting to be discovered. Be taken by bike and boat to find these treasures scattered along the river and canals.
Meet in Chinatown to collect your bicycles, then begin cycling through alleyways full of wholesalers selling all kinds of wares. Arrive at the Chao Phraya River and hop on a ferry to cross to Thonburi, which, for a brief period, was the capital of Siam. Here you will visit one of the first Chinese settlements to Thailand as you cycle by temples, markets and old warehouses filled with scents of herbs and traded goods. Explore many of Thonburi's landmarks as you make your way to one of our hidden treasures, Klong Bang Luang, a two-century-old wooden house that now is home to a community of artists. After your visit you will explore the canal by longtail boat to see more gems on the banks of this impressive canal network. You'll return to your starting point in Chinatown at about 17:30.
You will cycle about 13 kilometres in total, along very minor roads, pathways, though alleys and temples. There are no hills. Please note that some of the canal paths are elevated and narrow.
