This was a great tour. My husband and I got to experience the floating market and railway market. Our tour guide was very kind, friendly and very knowledgeable. She provided us with lots of background on the markets as well as some history about the city of Bangkok while we were on the way to the markets. We took a 1.5 hr van ride to the railway station where we got on the train that runs through the railway market. Next, we got off within the railway market and had the opportunity to walk-through and explore several vendors with the amazing experience of seeing the train go through the market. We were then picked up by the van and taken to the floating market where we had a 30 minute boat ride and time for lunch. We were then taking back to our starting point. Overall, we had a good experience and recommend to anyone who wants to explore local markets.

Full description

Start your tour by meeting your fluent English-speaking tour guide at the meeting point in downtown Bangkok by 09:00 AM. After boarding a fully air-conditioned coach, head for about 1.5 hours to Ban Ka Long Railway Market where you will get on a train to ride it to Maeklong Railway Market itself, led by the tour guide.

After exploring the market, take a paddle boat to sail through the canals and enter into Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Here, you'll be provided enough leisure time to wander around the many local shops inside the market. Try local Thai delicacies such as Pad Thai, mango sticky rice, boat noodles, tropical fruits, and more.

Next, hop on your return transfer to Bangkok and be dropped off at King Power Mahanakhon, the tallest building in Thailand and an iconic architectural landmark. You can choose the additional option to receive your full entrance pass, then soak up panoramic views of Bangkok from a 314-meter (1,030-foot) high skywalk. Look down through the glass, if you dare.

Meeting point

The meeting point is in front of Mc Donald's located on the 1st floor of Robinson Department Store Sukhumvit Branch next to Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel. It is just 50 meters from BTS Asoke Station (MRT Sukhumvit). If you are taking a taxi you can tell the driver the alley number which is Sukhumvit Soi 17.

Don was a great guide. He was extremely organized and made sure we saw everything with sufficient time to enjoy. I was particularly impressed with how he managed with a group of 8 French tourists in our group that constantly interrupted him, talked over him, and were other times simply rude and inconsiderate. Dom made our experience very enjoyable. He also gave some very helpful tips and insight about touring Thailand.
