Full description
Get a deeper understanding of Thai cuisine and culture, a belly full of delicious food, and memories of a historic area in Bangkok rarely visited by outsiders. Hop aboard one of the klong boats for a scenic cruise along the canals. Get an insight into life in Bangkok as your guide tells you stories and anecdotes about the buildings you pass. Hop off for a bowl of old-style Hokkien noodles from a popular restaurant. Savor the thick udon noodles smothered in a rich beef or pork stew and learn about the origins of this famous dish. After, navigate the old streets, stopping for the best banana fritters in town cooked up in a local home-style kitchen factory. Dive into one of Bangkok's oldest markets which has been serving up dishes to locals since 1899. Here, visit the best stalls and delve into another dozen dishes, like crispy catfish salads, fresh spring rolls with cured sausage and pickles, freshwater fish steamed curry topped with coconut cream, and more mouth-watering bites. Between courses, enjoy a guided tour of the area and learn about local life in this peaceful part of Bangkok. See the wooden remains of the city's oldest silent cinema and discover why this was once the entertainment district. Then, say goodbye to your fellow guests at the market. Your guide will help direct you back to your hotel or find transport for you should you wish.

Such a great experience. Tried a total of 21 local dishes, drinks and sweet treats. Fon, our guide was absolutely incredible, so helpful, funny and knowledgeable. She made the experience so wonderful and I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to try street food in Bangkok but doesn’t know where to start. 10/10!

Annie and Bewe were great tour guides and the stops made on this experience were great as well. You'll travel by boat, bus, tuk tuk and on foot and it's a great way to experience a local Thai part of town. We learned many Thai words that help with reading menus, how to look for highly rated restaurants based on signage, some Thai food history, and tried 20ish dishes. highly recommend.

This tour was such an amazing (food) adventure. We tried so many things we would have never dared to try by ourselves. We ended up tasting not only 15 but 20 different things. Our tour guide was great and very accommodating. She also spontaneously included additional foods and things to see into the tour. We really had lots of little surprises along the way (a little cock fight training area, kitchen in someone’s private home, a peek into a miniature train workshop,…). We really enjoyed the boat and tuktuk ride and learned so much abou the local cuisine. 10/10 recommend.
