- Visit a place away from the tourists where locals are happy to see you
- Take a break from the busy city and see a little of the countryside
- Visit long-forgotten ancient temple ruins
- Admire the beautiful scenery as you cycle through the countryside
You will start the tour with a quick bike fitting and briefing at the shop before heading out on the streets. It takes a few kilometers to get out of the city but on the way you will ride through tiny alleyways with dense housing. Winding your way out through the suburbs, you will soon reach the countryside where tall buildings are replaced by small wooden houses, roads become narrow concrete paths or dirt tracks, and the crowds of people are replaced by lush vegetation and trees.
Once in the countryside there are few cars but many surprised locals. Here you will see some of the locals getting around on small paddle boats that they use to access their fruit gardens – it really is like stepping back in time. You will also enjoy lunch at a delicious local eatery.
There is a great variety in the terrain you will cover, as you jump from communities living along the canals to market gardens, lush farmland, and ancient temple ruins – all within the sight of Bangkok’s skyscrapers. On the return to the Bangkok, you will wind back through the alleyways and finish at the shop, where you can relax and enjoy a complimentary drink.

Grasshopper Adventures Shop: You need to make your own way to the starting point. If you are coming from the downtown area please allow at least 1 hour as you will be travelling in the peak hour traffic. We suggest taking the skytrain to Ratchatewi Station and then getting a taxi from there. If you are staying at a hotel on the river you can take the ferry to Pier N13 Phra Athit and then take a short taxi or tuk tuk ride from there. Our shop is only 100 meters from the Democracy Monument on the same side as the McDonald's. (Open in Google Maps)
