We pick you up after breakfast. As the title suggests, this tour is the story of Bangalore—its transformation from obscurity to a modern metropolis.
The experience begins at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bangalore’s oldest and most treasured green space. Our expert guide outlines the day's itinerary and how each site connects to the city's evolution. Stroll through lush landscapes featuring Banyans, Araucarias, Ceibas, Plumerias, Cypresses, Saracas, and various timber and fruit trees. Marvel at the park’s geological wonder, regal statues, Victorian monuments, a serene lake and a variety of furry mammals and avians that call this park their home.
Next, we take a short drive to Sri Someshwara Swamy Temple or Bull Temple, where you’ll gain insight into Hindu mythology, its many deities, and the role of temples in daily life. Admire the intricate carvings, stonework, and sacred rituals before seeking the deity’s blessing.
A short distance away is Bangalore Fort, once a mighty South Indian bastion. Though only a fraction remains, you’ll learn about the Battle of Bangalore (1791) while exploring its gigantic doors, intricate Islamic art, and remarkable stone masonry, reminiscent of a famous South American monument.
Next we visit the site where the official city of Bangalore was established in 1537 by Kempe Gowda. Today, this bustling area, once a mud fort, is chock-a-block with over 25,000 business establishments selling every conceivable commodity. At its heart lies KR Market. The vibrant sight of traders and hawkers displaying colorful wares—fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices cast iron pots, and groceries—feels like walking in a time warp, creating a truly astonishing and speechless experience.

Post-lunch, we will visit sites in the erstwhile cantonment, the British part of Bangalore. Our journey begins at a church from the early 1800s. As you explore the altar and gaze at the wall memorials of long-gone Britons, you can’t help but marvel at the British enterprise, which, for a time, ruled much of the world.
We then visit the exteriors of Bangalore Palace, resembling an English manor. Learn about its first owner, its connection to the Wadiyar dynasty, and their role in shaping modern Mysore.
Our final stop is Vidhana Soudha, India’s largest state legislature. While admiring its grandeur, discover the fascinating story behind its construction and architectural brilliance.
