Explore stunning sections of wilderness on this two-hour horseback riding tour in Banff National Park. Spot wildlife that you might not get to see on foot and learn a few cowboy tricks along the way from your guide.  Pass by natural sulphur hot springs as you make your way to one of Banff’s national historic sites, the Cave and Basin. Trek along the tranquil Bow River and take in magnificent views of the Bow Valley. Press through thick marshes that are difficult to navigate on foot. Watch as your horse easily ascends the slopes of Sulphur Mountain to reach the Windy Knoll viewpoint where you can take striking photos of the sweeping landscape.

Warner Stables, 1 Sundance Rd, Banff, AB T1L 1B9, Canada. Meet at the big red stables located at the end of Sundance Road in Banff. When you arrive, please check-in for your ride at the office in the east barn which has signs for ‘Warner Stables’ and ‘office’. There is plenty of free parking at the site. Please ensure that you arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour start time.

Know before you go

  • No shows, missed departures or unused services will be non-refundable.
  • Minimum age is 8 years or over; if age requirement is not met, the booking will be forfeited without a refund
  • Maximum weight of of 230 lbs; if weight exceeds the maximum weight, the booking will be forfeited without a refund
  • Children must ride their own horse and will not be paired with an adult
  • Each rider must be able to speak and understand fluent English.
  • Children aged 17 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Backpacks are not permitted on the ride
  • All adult riders must sign a waiver; a waiver must also be completed by the parent or legal guardian of any rider under the age of 18 (documentation may be required to confirm the signatory's authority)
  • Riders must be physically capable of controlling the horse without assistance

The activity was well organised, time focused to ensuring safe riding..the staff all appeared to love the horses. Our 2 guides were excellent, however taking pics was difficult as I was unable to take pics with 1 hand while holding in to horse reign. I would recommend scheduled stops where participants could use both hands to take pics knowing the horses would stay still... The staff were great with assisting me on and off the horse and did take a picture before you got off the horse for memory. The reason this company is so strict with time arrival is because they take the safety instructions seriously and if you miss this, then they will not risk ur safety or the safety of the horses by letting you ride. All the guides seemed to have a genuine affection for all the animals. Thoroughly enjoyed my 2 hr ride, despite a sore butt next day..lol Thankyou to the stable team...for making this one of our favourite activity while we were in Banff. Cheers an Aussie traveller Lisa
