Mother Nature didn’t cooperate with a sleigh ride but the wagon ride thru Banff was awesome. Guide introduced us to the horses and told us the history of the Banff area. I would highly recommend doing this ride.

Full description

Start your tour in Banff, where you will meet a member of the riding office, who will check you in for your sleigh ride. Now it's time to climb into the sleigh and get cozy with your loved ones under a cozy wool blanket. Hear the tinkling of sleigh bells, as the horses lead you on a journey through Banff's mountain meadows. Along the way, listen to stories from your guide and soak in the spectacular views of the valley and surrounding mountains, while keeping your eyes peeled for local wildlife, such as elk and deer. Finish your memorable excursion with a fireside warm-up stop after the ride with a hot drink back at the stables.

  • Campfires are weather-permitting
  • Children 3 years and under are free of charge, but are not guaranteed a seat and may need to sit on a lap
  • Sleigh rides are weather dependent and may not operate in certain conditions (eg: -35C)
  • Children aged 17 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • All adults must sign a waiver prior to the tour; a waiver must also be completed by the parent or legal guardian of any children under the age of 18 and documentation may be required to confirm the signatory’s authority
  • Any minors under 18 years, who are not accompanied by an adult must present a pre-signed waiver to go on the tour
  • Each booking will reserve one row in the sleigh; each row can hold a maximum of 4 guests
  • Bookings of more than 4 guests will need to be divided into more than one booking
  • A minimum of two participants are required to make a booking

Fabulous time. Weird how they sat out whole family of ten on one side of the wagon rather than across from each other so we could be together for the ride. Fabulous guide driver. Fabulous footman. Loved the way they cared for the horses.
