Full description
Climb aboard this iconic 4-person gondola cabin with large windows and relax. During the 8-minute ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, take in the views of the town of Banff, Bow Valley, and six different mountain ranges. While on the mountain's peak, be amazed by 360-degree views. Explore the interactive Above Banff Interpretative Center to learn about the early explorers, wildlife, and local area. Hike across the Sulphur Mountain boardwalk to explore the Sulphur Mountain Cosmic Ray Station, a National Historic Site. Then stop at the coffee shops, restaurants, and gift shops.

The Banff Gondola is located at the base of Sulphur Mountain at the end of Mountain Avenue, 10 minutes drive from Banff. The Banff Gondola is serviced year-round by Bow Valley ROAM Transit Services. Buses run regularly, with stops along Banff Avenue (cost $2/ride per adult)

The Banff Gondola experience was amazing! You should definitely go! Ticket price at Get Your Guide was reduced when compared with at the door or online Gondola prices (saved about $20). But I didn’t give 5 Stars because the information for getting to the gondola was confusing…said there was a meeting place and to meet at an address, This was a personal address (someone’s home). We went ahead and went straight to the gondola and turns out you turn your voucher in to them and they give you tickets.

We just took the gondola ride and it is great! Remember it is only 8 minutes but there are so many great viewpoints on the mountain when you get there. There is a very nice boardwalk to take you HIGHER! And we even got to see our only wildlife for the week we were in Banff National Park above the gondola.. mountain goats! Two adults and 2 babies! And just like everywhere else we went in the Canadian Rockies .. every employee is so nice! We appreciate that!Our day was overcast but still beautiful! Glad we went! The 4 star instead of 5 star isn’t really the gondola tour fault BUT, we paid $65 a person for the gondola and when we were at the Icefields we wanted to go on the Icefields bus excursion but it was $135 a person with a 2 hr wait. Stay with me… then we get to the gondola which we were told to book before we left home because they sell out.. and they have a combined ticket you can buy for both gondola and ice bus $145 a person! That would have been nice to know and see online

Was beautiful! Lots of people and the gondola crew did a great job at unloading and loading people quickly to make the lines move fast. That day was clear and beautiful. Amazing view at the top of sulphur mountains viewing Banff and the mountains and rivers all around. Staff and crew were very friendly. Just a beauty spot
