8 Bamberg breweries are part of this fantastic BierSchmecker® tour. With the map of the city in your hands, you can stroll along the paths of brewing culture through the old town of Bamberg. Chose four of the breweries to taste their speciality beers with the help of the included vouchers and take home a souvenir beer stein, hand made and branded with Bamberg emblem. A pair of smoke beer truffels also comes with the package, furthermore the brochure “Bamberg’s world of beer”, listing all the breweries in town and in the region.

One of the darkest chapters in Bamberg's history is the persecution of witches, to which hundreds of citizens fell victim in the 17th century. The hunt for witches and sorcerers was by no means limited to red-haired women or elderly mothers, as common clichés would have us believe, but included men and women from all social classes up to Bamberg mayors. Anyone who ended up in the "Trudenhaus," Bamberg's witch prison, was as good as lost. This tour takes you into the long history of witch hunts in Bamberg. These tours are NOT your typical city beer tours, where you are led around by an unexperienced novice, who just recently read into the subject! The tour will be held by a local, native English & German speaking Beer Sommelier! This 2 hour tour includes: - a local native English & German speaker, certified Beer Sommelier, as the guide. - an actual tour of a small brewery. Depending on the location, possibly a "gezwickeltes" beer, directly from the storage tank! - 3-4 sample beers at various venues while we walk through Bamberg. - an overview of Bamberg's brewery/beer scene and history, its offerings, points of interest and as much information that can be packed into 2 hours! - a bilingual tour guide who will either give the tour in English, German or both, depending on the structure and needs of the group. Our cinematic walk shows, how Bamberg served as a movie set for great films. Cult films such as "The Flying Classroom" (1973), the family hit "The Sams" (2001), "The Three Musketeers" (2011) or the Netflix series "The Empress" (2022) were shot in the cathedral city. We visit the "Aufseesianum", which appeared in front of the camera in "The Flying Classroom" with Joachim Fuchsberger and we follow Ottfried Fischer, Günter Strack and the cheeky "Sams" through the alleyways of the old town. We pay special attention to the filming of "The Three Musketeers", which transformed the cathedral city into 17th century Paris and brought up to 400 filmmakers to Bamberg. We start at the Obere Brücke and stroll through the winding, medieval alleyways to the "Samshaus". From the picturesque "Pfahlplätzchen" we continue to the impressive Bamberg Residence. Immerse yourself in stories in front of and behind the camera, learn about the craft of filmmaking and experience Bamberg's transformation into a cinematic stage set.
