So it's a 5 star trip if you're staying in the South of the island or near the airport, particularly if you have a beach nearby. From Ubud, it can take a couple of hours to get to Uluwatu as it is right at the bottom of the peninsula. We had a lovely time, but the beach was important to us amd when we got there it was dark. If we were to do again, we would opt for a longer or earlier trip to get more beach time, and ask to see the beach on the way. That said, the show costumes were amazing and the sunset was beautiful. You will also leave with a good monkey story! our guide was really helpful, took us to the plantation because we got there earlier than expected, and guided us towards a cheaper restaurant along the beach. although it was dark, there were lots of swings and big surfy waves - still Insta friendly!

Experience the best sundown spot in Bali on a visit to Uluwatu Temple, a Balinese temple to the sea gods with a commanding view of the Indian Ocean. Part of a series of temples built to protect the island from evil spirits, today its cliffside location is home to a family of friendly monkeys. Once night falls and you have seen the colors of the sunset, experience one of the island's most famous cultural performances at a "kecak" fire dance. Watch the locals act out a scene from the Ramayana with a mesmerizing trance chant, exciting performances of fire dances, and intricate costumes. Then, get the option to enjoy dinner at a seafood restaurant serving delicious barbecue food in Jimbaran Bay. Sink your feet in the sand as you dine and relax at the end of an unforgettable day!

We had a great afternoon with Rudy Ameh in his yellow car. Rudy was knowledgeable and able to navigate us through the crowds at Uluwatu. As we were early for the arriving at the Uluwatu Temple for the Kecak dance, Rudy suggested we go to the coffee plantation where Luwak coffee is produced. Good experience and added bonus. The Kecak dance at sunset was hot but worth it. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. Take a fan and a hat, but beware of the monkeys who are great thieves if you are not careful 😉. Would recommend
