Full description

Head for the island of Nusa Penida and embark on a snorkeling adventure. Take advantage of 3 different stops to swim with Manta Rays, enjoy lunch on the beach, then spend the afternoon exploring the mangrove forest.

Benefit from pick-up at your hotel in selected areas of Bali, and then journey to Nusa Penida, located 20 kilometers off the southeast coast.

The largest of Bali's 3 sister islands (Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, and Nusa Ceningan), Nusa Penida is much less developed and remains home to abundant and pristine nature. Marvel at the dramatic landscape and steep cliffs along the coast as you make your way to some of the island's best snorkel sites.

Upon arrival at the protected bay of Manta Bay, discover an ocean rich with plankton that attracts beautiful reef manta rays that can sometimes measure up to an impressive 4 or 5 meters in wing span. Go to 3 of the best snorkel sites on the island, including popular spots (depending on conditions) such as Crystal Bay, Toyapakeh, and Gamat Bay.

As the strong swells of the Indian Ocean can impact conditions, the situation will be carefully monitored to take you to where it is safe to swim with the rays less than 1.5 meters from the surface of the sea.

If conditions are not suitable, your snorkeling itinerary will be adjusted accordingly, as your safety is always the number one priority. Following your magical snorkeling adventure, break for a delicious beachside lunch at Paradise Beach on Nusa Lembongan. The lunch is served as an Indonesian food buffet. Then, get the chance to explore the mangrove forest in the afternoon by kayak, stand-up paddle board, or private gondola.

Our guide tried 2 different sites to make sure we saw the rays. An incredible experience to see these majestic creatures up close. We stopped at 2 more sites to see the colorful fish and corals. One of the guides takes pictures/videos with his go-pro, so be sure you "pose" :-) The kayak trip in the afternoon was nothing special, and we had too much free time in between.

When we arrived at the boat pick up. The guide who picked us up just left us there with everyone else. This wasn’t explained what was happening. He just left. Luckily the other guide on the boat was excellent. We got some welcome drinks when arrived on island. When we arrived at stop 1/3 there was no Manta Rays. However the guides spotted this before we got in and took us to parts where we could. All three stops on the snorkelling we seen coral/ fishes/ Manta Rays. Was good time all round and the guides made sure to have fun. The only down side was the fact that the water sports booked with the package was kayak. As neither us were any good it meant we didn’t enjoy it as much. There was no option to change this either. All in all good day with only minor downsides.

We had a great experience on our snorkel excursion. The guides were knowledgeable, fun, and experienced. The boat ride to Manta Point was a little scary with the waves, but the boat driver was incredible at navigating it. The guides said that there were no Mantas at Manta Bay, so they made the choice to divert to Manta Point instead and we saw two mantas! The one complaint would be that there were tiny jellyfish all over Manta Point. It felt like constant pin pricks all over your body as you were snorkeling. They weren't strong enough to make you sick or injure you, but it was definitely a little uncomfortable. The second and third snorkel stops were beautiful and had no jellyfish. The trip ended with a yummy lunch and a kayak trip in the mangroves. There were no stand up paddleboards available.
