Full description
The stunning Tanah Lot Temple is located about 20 km north of Densapar. You can’t miss it: the imposing rock formation the temple sits upon has been shaped over the years by the crashing waves beneath. It also boasts incredible sunset views, thanks to its Southwesterly location. Tanah Lot is one of seven ocean temples in Bali and has been a center of mythology for centuries. This Hindu temple, dedicated to the Gods of the sea and dates back to the 16th century, holds much significance for locals but is now just as well loved by visitors to the island. It’s an ideal place to relax and admire the skies change color against the backdrop of the ocean, with Tanah Lot standing proudly at the forefront. So come and spend time exploring the temple and its dramatic surroundings, and learn about the rich history of Tanah Lot and its religious beliefs here. Many local market stalls also surround Tanah Lot temple. The UNESCO Heritage Site’s nearby shops offer handmade trinkets, Balinese instruments, textiles, and more.

I would advised if you choose sunset package better keep updated on Bali’s season (weather) according the selected date of the trip. I didnt get to watch sunset as I choose during early rainy season of Bali (oct). Thankfully the tour guide Kadek Darma was very informative and also sporting. I feel bad that he apologised because we didnt get a chance to catch the sunset at Tanah Lot but the weather is not his fault. You will get a chance to see the holy snake and learn more about the history of the holy snake from the person who look after it but to do so you need to contribute sincere amount to them. You can also get a chance to take a photo with big snakes but they are not anaconda and they are no harm . To end the trip, you’ll be sitting at the cafe either you want to drink or eat or both.

Long drive from Seminyak, but in a good car. You can't go inside the temple. Just see it from the outside. But it was beautiful. Unfortunately, there were too many clouds as a storm was approaching, so there was not so much sunset. My guide Yogi was great and is highly recommended. We were a small group of three solo travelers, and we had a very nice time together.

Picked up from hotel in Legian/Kuta area by friendly guide with complimentary bottle of water. Knowledgeable guide was on hand to capture great images and creative videos on your phones. Temple is stunning and a must see. Holy water blessing available for a donation. Variety of options for spots to watch the sunset. We opted for cocktails on the cliff top.
