Full description
The trip starts with pickup from your accommodation in Baku and heads towards the Shamakhi region. Admire the stunning scenic views of the countryside along the drive and immerse yourself in the natural landscapes as you travel to one of Azerbijan’s newest wineries. Wine growing in the Shamakhi region has been undergoing a new era of development in recent years and the particular winery on this tour was set up to produce organic wines. A wine factory with a vast area covering of 4398 square meters was built on the vineyard within the wine complex and was put into operation in 2018. The winery aims to produce 1.4 million liters of wine per year and harvests an array of native and foreign grape varieties, all chemical free. Enjoy a guided tour of the vineyard and learn about the grapes that are grown here to produce the wines. Then wander around the winery and watch the process of wine production as well as storage in the cellar. Finally, enjoy a tasting session of Shirvan wines and learn about to distinguish the flavors between grapes. After your finish the visit to the winery, you’ll next go to Madrasa village, birthplace of the Madrasa grape, to have lunch with a local family and taste their homemade wine.
