From Tarifa: Guided hiking tour in the Strait Natural Park

Hi, we are Tarifa Mystical Tours - a family run tour operator with soul. Tarifa is not only what you can see on the first sight. This Is the land of ancient myths and legends. It is a place that was already inhabited by early humans thousands of millennials before, who left their tracks here in many caves through pictographs and petroglyphs. It is the place where according to some scholars, the legendary Atlantis (most likely Tartessos Civilisation) was located before it was damned to disappear for eternity in the mad and punitive waves of the Atlantic Ocean… We will pick you up from your hotel in Tarifa or surroundings and guide you through the most beautiful places in this natural paradise. With us you will discover hidden gems of prehistoric and ancient origins, to which only experienced local guides like us can bring you. We will guide you through the most exclusive places with stunning views, rich in endemic nature and wildlife. We will bring you to mystical places that might be hidden at the first sight, spending some silent and mindful time there to better connect with yourself and the healing powers of this sacred land. You will encounter archeological sites dating back to thousands of years BCE (neolithic caves, dolmens and tombs), as well as ancient ruins of Phoenician, Roman or Celtic origins. You will see stunning views of Africa and the Atlantic coast (Costa de la Luz) with sandy bays, dunes and cliffs, as well as different mountain chains (Sierra de la Plata, San Bartholome, etc.) and a typical Andalusian countryside. You will meet free running cows, goats or horses, as well as endemic wild birds like eagles or vouchers. On clear days you might be able to spot some big marine mammals in the ocean. The municipality of Tarifa is where Paulo Coelho wrote his most famous piece ‘The Alchemist‘. It is also a place where the protagonist of the book – Santiago decides to live his “personal legend” and starts his journey to the “soul of the world”. Allow yourself to be drawn by the mystic, magic and the ALCHEMY of this sacred land.

From Cádiz: Private Day Trip to Gibraltar and Bolonia

From Cádiz: Private Day Trip to Gibraltar and Bolonia

Benefit from pick-up in Cádiz, Jerez, Chiclana, El Puerto de Santa María or Rota, and then journey by air-conditioned minivan to the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar, home to the only wild macaques ("barbary apes") in Europe. Although free to move throughout the city, they're usually found in the limestone rocks of the Peñón de Gibraltar (Rock of Gibraltar), and according to superstition, if the monkeys ever leave the rock then so will the British! An important city during Roman times, Gibraltar has preserved its old town charm, and blends scenic splendor with a modern vibe. While the 426-meter high Rock of Gibraltar looking across the straits to Africa is the main sight, other attractions include the Gibraltar Museum, where the territory's swashbuckling history is brought to life. Take a stroll along Main Street to see the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Crowned and the official residence of the Governor of Gibraltar at The Convent You will also visit the ruins of the Roman city of Baelo Claudia, located about 22 kilometers northwest of Tarifa off the Cádiz to Gibraltar road. Prosperous at the time of Emperor Claudius, the city went into decline hastened by earthquakes, and was completely abandoned by the 6th century. Situated next to Bolonia Beach, considered one of the 5 most beautiful beaches in Spain, the archaeological site preserves the most representative elements of a typical Roman city. The main attraction of Bolonia Beach is its dune. At over 30 meters high and 200 meters wide, it is set in an inlet within the Estrecho Nature Park, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. From the Bolonia-Faro Camarinal Trail, the views of the broad beach of golden sand, popular with surfers, is truly spectacular. You can also see the lighthouse with its cauldron-like holes in the rocks.

As we didn't know that the Baelo Claudia interpretation centre closes at 3pm, we missed a key element of the visit. We were with a child who had been ill and had little energy so we didn't make much use of the beach and dunes and, due to tiredness, we skipped the visit to Vejer. It would have been a disappointing day if it weren't for the kindness, knowledge and professionalism of our guide, Carlos. This person is a professional who combines professionalism with kind care for tourists.

Justa, my guide for this hike, was exceptional. Super knowledgeable about the history—from ancient times to modern times—and the land, Justa led me on a wonderful 5-hour hike. She was also super friendly and authentic. I felt like I was hiking with one of my daughters! I highly recommend this experience.

Over and above our expectations. We were more than satisfied with the entire experience. Gabriella is amazing and deserves special recognition. Thank you GYG😊
