From Cebu: Osmeña Peak and Kandungaw Peak Hiking Trail

Horrendous experience: our driver was sleeping in the car at scheduled meeting time. We specifically booked this tour because we wanted to see the sunrise at Osmeña peak. A lack of foresight meant the driver choose a route which was unpassable because of rainfall the night before leading to an extra two hour drive to reach the starting point of the hike and resulting in us missing the sunrise. After Osmeña Peak our driver tried to find the way to the starting point of Kandungaw Peak Trail, but after a total of seven hours in the car he hired a local for 1.000 php to get us to the starting point. Unannounced to us this meant an additional one hour (one way) very bumpy motorcycle ride leading through hiking trails to reach the trail head. We had to pay the entrance fee ourselves and weren‘t provided with any water or a guide familiar with the area as promised. Our driver had a friend who was there the whole time watching Facebook videos on his phone. Don‘t book here! Not worth it at all!

Driver never been to Osmena Peak, his GPS was not working so basically was stopping every 5 mins to ask for directions. All the way, he was playing Bob Marley one love on repeat for 2 hours non stop and making Facebook live videos and sending vocals messages to his followers while driving. Totally unprofessional. When we reached there the weather was so foggy so you can’t see anything but the local guide told me that it’s usually better later in the day so probably the activity should be moved for later in the day. It will be cheaper and better to rent a car with a driver and get a guide for the peak on the spot (basically what he did)
