Bacalar Sunrise Stand Up Paddleboard: A Unique Experience

Great activity and stunning sunrise. Much more strenuous than expected, but fantastic experience. Level of fitness needed! Fruit and coffee a nice touch

It''s a fantastic possibility to try paddle boarding and watch the sunrise over the bacalar lagoon. Our guides, Victoria, Daniel and David were amazing. At arrival you can have an americano coffee, use the bathroom and leave your bag/clothes at the Yak hotel. You don't need any special clothing our shoes, go barefoot and in swimsuit but can also wear sport clothing or snorkeling suit if you are cold. At the start they showed us how to use the paddleboard. It is very easy but needs some balance and prepare to paddle approximately 5 km, you need a little bit of fitness. First stop was the Cenote negro where we could swim (but didn't have to) and where we listened to some interesting stories about the lagoon and then watched the sunrise. It was beautiful and very special, even if it was a bit cloudy. After that we paddled threw the lagoon and had some tasty fruit snack at the pirate channel before going back. They made photos from us and sent it to us for free. Great program, thank you!
