Agia Napa: Sea Caves Guided Kayaking

7. Agia Napa: Sea Caves Guided Kayaking

The basic kayaking route: Along Agia Napa Sea Caves (7 km / 4.5 mi) (from Limnara beach going east and back) If we have time and explorers want to we can also kayak to Cape Greko Sea Caves and back (3.5 / 2 mi). Limnara beach is the start of the kayaking trip and the basic route goes west until Glyky Nero beach (and then back to Limnara beach). The coastline is rocky, with many formations, interrupted by two natural sandy beaches (one is too narrow and shallow to go into on a kayak) and one man-made. The big highlights of the trip are the collection of Sea Caves just east of the beaches of Pantahou and Glyky Nero in Agia Napa. There are more than five sea caves, but most are either very narrow to enter or their height above sea level is limited. Usually we enter two of them. The experience is superb. We enter teh first cave from one entrance and leave from the other. The second cave that we enter has only a single (wider) entrance and the colours there are very beautiful, especially as it has a white sand bottom throughout and light blue water colours. Lovers' Bridge natural rocky arch is another big highlight of the trip. The arch is quite wide for a few kayaks to go under at the same It is highly recommended that we also do some snorkeling (if customers like to). Depending on time availability and customers preferences, we may be able also to do a go and return trip to Cape Greko Sea Caves complex, towards the east. That complex presents a different experience, as it is a cove of sea caves (the Greek Cypriot name is 'Palathkia' or 'Palaces' in English). We would not be able to enter a cave in a kayak, as they are too shallow. In the last few years the number of Mediterranean monk seals is increasing in Cyprus (there are presently about thirty all around the coastline). If we are very very lucky we may be blessed and spot one. The kayaking trip ends back at Limnara beach. It should be noted that at this point, there is capacity for only two kayakers at anyone time (plus the guide). If more that two kayakers book in the group, then we would need to manage the time that each participant will use a kayak. The time that we spend in the sea depends on the pickup location for the trip. Nicosia is possibly more than an hour away by car while Agia Napa is just a few minutes away. This would naturally mean that we would have under four hours in the sea if customers are picked up from Nicosia, and more than five if they are picked from Agia Napa or Protaras. If the customers agree, in case of forecasted choppy sea, instead we kayak around East Cape Greko (if the weather is expected to be bad everywhere, we cancel the trip).

What people are saying about Ayia Napa

We were picked up at 8:30am at the hotel and then drove to Protaras to the harbor, from where the catamaran ride started. I was one of the lucky ones who got a lounge spot at the front of the boat, these are definitely the premium spots ;-) We then set off and dropped anchor a total of three times, where we had plenty of time to swim. Especially the stop at Turtle Bay was very impressive because we saw several turtles there. Lunch was served at the at the Blue Lagoon. Veggies didn't miss out here either, the food was very tasty. In addition, all drinks including cocktails were included! The crew members were very friendly and took care of the guests' well-being! All in all, it was an excellent experience that I will remember for sure, thank you! :-)

It’s a great day out, great value for money and our driver George Michealwas brilliant very knowledgeable, interactive and friendly. The restaurant where you have lunch is beautiful the food and staff are amazing, then you move on to the winery again staff are great fantastic wine and they even produce an amazing olive oil, a must try you finish up in a wonderful little village full of restaurants and shops

Really nice half day activity, after seeing some beautiful spots we stopped for swimming on an amazing beach. And the guide was really nice! Just be careful of you have motion sickness, don't sit on the back as the jeep goes on quite rough nature trails (I don't and for me it was an interesting experience).

Really good lunch on board and drinks unlimited! The spots visited were amazing, and the time in each one of them was the right one. We even saw a turtle swimming.

Amazing! He knew so much information about the island and it’s history was also very funny! I would 100% recommended :)
