Full description

Discover the historic sites and monuments in Avila and Segovia on a guided day trip from Madrid. Admire the exterior of the Ávila Walls and see the Roman Aqueduct. Begin in downtown Madrid and travel to the cities of Avila and Segovia by comfortable coach.

See the exterior of the Ávila Walls that surround the city that was completed in just 10 years, between the 11th and 14th centuries. Then, visit the interior of the Basilica of San Vicente known as The Basilica of the Holy Brothers Martyrs, Vicente, Sabina, and Cristeta.

Pass through the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral to reach the Church-convent of Santa Teresa and explore the interior of its Church. Once the visit to Ávila is finished, enjoy free time to have a wine, a soft drink, and an aperitif and to have lunch or continue visiting the city.

Go to the city of Segovia and visit the Roman Aqueduct, which is the highest and best-preserved. Pass through the Casa de los Picos, Plaza de Juan Bravo, and Plaza Mayor where you'll find the Cathedral, dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption and of San Frutos.

Finish at El Alcázar de Segovia, a medieval fortress, located on a rocky crag on the confluence of two rivers near the Sierra de Guadarrama, it is one of the most distinctive castles-palaces in Spain by virtue of its shape, like the prow of a ship.

It has been good overall. We had two accompanying guides who were correct, I can't rate it very much since in Segovia and Ávila we were accompanied by local guides and they were wonderful, very attentive and you can see the love for their work. The place where the tapas and drinks were served wasn't bad, but it was a somewhat expensive cafeteria and they looked at you badly if you didn't ask for something more than what we had paid for. I say it's expensive, because in the morning three coffees and a tapa of torreznos were €15. The excursion that we had contracted was €51 without tickets and then they charged us €26 for 1 child, two teenagers and two adults €26 per head, a bit excessive, since in many places in Spain and abroad minors do not pay the same . We pay for it and that's it, since they sell the same excursion for people with and without tickets and there you see yourself in the commitment. That was an armed robbery. But hey, I'll leave it here so it do

Oscar was very knowledgeable and informative. He had a very relaxed manner which made us feel that we were not being rushed despite following a very full itinerary.

Good tour, good tourist attractions, the guide Germán very playful, friendly and great connoisseur of the tour he was leading. As with any one-day tour, time is always scarce, perhaps more time is required in Segovia and the visit to Ávila may be reduced. But in general I think that both are our cities near Madrid that have to be known. I had personally passed through Avila but behind those medieval walls is a jewel of a walled city.
